Alain Pérez was born in Havana on December 25, 1977. He studied at the Amadeo Roldán Conservatory, where he worked on classical music and jazz. In 1997, he started his own band, Alain Pérez y la Orquesta.
His debut album 'Hablando Claro' came out that same year. Later records included 'Mi Tumbao' in 2000, 'Cubaneando' in 2003, and 'Llegó Van Van' in 2008. The band mixed Cuban rhythms with jazz and funk.
One of his songs, 'Modo Avión', became widely known in 2021. Other tracks like 'A Mí No Me Importa' and 'Ruego de Amor' show his writing, which often deals with love and everyday situations.
