Alan Delavan was a Seattle-based alternative rock band active in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The group formed around singer-songwriter Alan Delavan, with guitarist Mark Broyles, bassist Michael Johnson, and drummer John Pierce. Their debut album 'Whispers of the Lost' came out in 1997.
Their most recognizable song was 'Come Undone,' which had a haunting quality that caught some attention. They followed up with a second album called 'Ashes to Ashes' in 2000, but the band broke up around 2002. Alan Delavan tried a solo career afterward, though it didn't gain much traction.
There were stories about creative tension within the group and some talk about Delavan's personal struggles, but the music itself, songs like 'Hard Feeler' and their debut material, remains what people actually heard. They were part of that Seattle scene in the late '90s, made a couple of records, and then were done.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
