Alan Rodrigues and Fernando Nunes are Brazilian accordionists who play forró, a style from the country's northeast. Alan comes from Campina Grande in Paraíba, and Fernando is from Caruaru in Pernambuco. They met as teenagers in the early 2000s and started performing together.
Their first album came out in 2003, also called 'Alan Rodrigues e Fernando.' The song 'Toca, toca, sanfoneiro' from that record got popular and helped them reach a wider audience. They followed it with albums like 'Aquela Musa' in 2005 and 'Piseiro de Ouro' in 2007. Other songs people know include 'Amigo seu' and 'Clarão da Lua.'
In 2010, there was some talk about them possibly using another artist's melody without credit. They said they didn't do that. The details around it aren't entirely clear from what's been written.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
