Alan Silvestri was born in Teaneck, New Jersey in 1950. He started working with director Robert Zemeckis on the 1984 film 'Romancing the Stone,' which began his Hollywood career.
His film scores include the 'Back to the Future' trilogy, 'Predator,' 'Forrest Gump,' and music for Marvel's 'Avengers' and 'Captain America: The First Avenger.' Some of his songs like 'The Polar Express' and 'When Christmas Comes to Town' come from his work on holiday films.
Silvestri has composed music for over 100 films. He continues to work in film scoring, with recent projects including 'Ready Player One' in 2018.
