Albano Carrisi was born in Cellino San Marco in 1943. He started performing locally, and his debut single 'La Felicità' came out in 1965. That song became a hit in Italy. In the 1970s and 1980s, he recorded a series of popular albums and singles, including 'Nel Sole' and 'Sharazan'. His voice had a romantic, soaring quality that connected with listeners.
In 1984, he won the Sanremo Music Festival with 'Ci Sarà', which he performed with his wife Romina Power. That win helped him reach audiences outside Italy, and he represented Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest several times. He and Romina Power were a popular duo, releasing songs like 'Felicità' and 'Ci Sarà' together. Their marriage ended in 1999.
Albano kept performing and recording after that, putting out albums like 'Le Rime' in 2000 and 'Di Che Tempo Sei' in 2010. He also did some acting. Some of his other well-known songs include 'Cara Terra Mia', 'Il Ragazzo che sorride', and 'Settembre'.
