Albert Pavão came from Ribeirão Preto in São Paulo and started making music in the early 1980s. He put together a band under his own name, and they released their debut album in 1986. That record was called 'Lobo Mau e os Três Porquinhos,' and its title track became a hit across Brazil.
The song 'Lobo Mau e os Três Porquinhos' retold the fairy tale from the wolf's point of view. It had a catchy melody and lyrics that played with ideas about good and evil. Other songs like 'Biquininho' and 'Cleópatra, Meu Amor' showed his taste for storytelling with a rock and folk feel.
Some of Pavão's lyrics touched on social themes and were seen as provocative at the time. The band faced some criticism and censorship from conservative groups, but they kept playing and recording.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
