Alchimist came out of London in the late 2000s. Their early shows were small, and their style didn't fit neatly into what labels were looking for at the time.
Things changed when they put out their first album, 'The Alchemist's Dream,' in 2012. The track 'The Wisher' from that record caught on, its moody feel pulling in listeners who weren't hearing that sound elsewhere.
Their music pulls from different places, including classical and folk, but it comes out as something of its own. You can hear that mix on songs like 'Beyond Darkness' and 'Despair.' They've put out a few albums since, keeping to their own path.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
