Alec Benjamin

Alec Benjamin started putting music out in 2014, but it was a few years later that things clicked for him. The song 'Let Me Down Slowly' came out in 2018 and found a real audience, connecting with its straightforward take on heartbreak. That track, along with others like 'If We Have Each Other' and 'Water Fountain,' helped define his early sound.

His first EP was called 'Narrated for You,' which came out the same year as his breakout single. He followed that with a debut album titled 'These Two Windows' in 2020. The writing tends to be personal, dealing in themes of relationships and inner life without much ornament.

He's worked with other artists occasionally. There's a remix of 'Let Me Down Slowly' that features Alessia Cara. For the most part, though, he operates as a solo singer-songwriter, with Alex Hope listed as a producer he's worked with.

His songs have a certain directness to them, 'Devil Doesn't Bargain' and 'Paper Crown' are good examples, that seems to be what people respond to. He puts out music, it finds its listeners, and that's been the pattern for a while now.
