Aled Jones

Aled Jones is a Welsh singer who first gained attention as a boy soprano. He was born in Bangor, Gwynedd in 1970 and appeared on Welsh television's 'Junior Showtime' when he was five. Producer Mike Batt invited him to sing on the 1982 Christmas album 'The Snowman', which included what would become his signature recording.

That recording was 'Walking In The Air', a song that became a Christmas staple in the UK and beyond. His boy soprano voice on that track captured a particular seasonal mood that has endured through decades of holiday playlists.

After his voice changed, Jones continued performing and recording. He later became an ordained Anglican priest while maintaining his presence in broadcasting and music. His career has spanned television presenting, religious ministry, and occasional musical releases, though 'Walking In The Air' remains what most people know him for.
