Alejandro Sokol, known as Bocha, came up in Buenos Aires and started playing guitar early. He was listening to Bob Dylan and The Beatles, along with Argentine rock figures like Luis Alberto Spinetta and Charly García. In 1989, he helped form Las Pelotas with some friends from his neighborhood. The band put out records like 'Buena Suerte' in 1995 and 'Para Siempre' in 1998.
Sokol went solo in 2001 with an album called 'El Sueño Eterno.' The track 'Cuerpo de Cristal' from that record got a lot of attention in Argentina. It's a song people still mention when they talk about his work.
There was some trouble in 2007 when he was arrested for having illegal substances. He kept making music after that. With Las Pelotas, he'd already released earlier albums including 'Muchacho' in 1990 and 'Corderos en la Noche' in 1991.
