Além Dos Cravos formed in São Paulo in the early 2000s, with Fernando Anitelli on vocals and guitar. Their debut album 'Te Agradeço' came out in 2005, and that title track became a hit. The band's sound has some post-punk and indie rock in it, with Anitelli's lyrics often leaning toward the introspective.
They followed that first record with albums like 'Alma' in 2007 and 'Horizonte' in 2010. Other songs in their catalog include 'Herói' and 'Além dos Cravos'. In 2008, Anitelli was diagnosed with lymphoma, which led to a temporary pause in the band's activities before he returned.
The lineup has included Rodrigo Barba on drums, Carlos Mendes on bass, Tiago Aranha on guitar, and Guilherme Pianca on piano and keyboards. They put out 'Sinfonia de Um Sonho' in 2013 and 'Além' in 2017.
