The Alessi Brothers are Billy and Ronnie Alessi, born in Los Angeles in 1951 and 1953. They started playing music as teenagers, influenced by R&B and soul, and worked the local club circuit. In 1975, they signed with Bell Records and put out their first album, which didn't do much. Their second album, 'All for a Reason,' included the song 'All For a Reason' and gave them their first real hits.
Their biggest moment came with 'Forever,' the lead single from their 1980 album. It went to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and stayed there for six weeks. Other tracks like 'As Far As I'm Concerned' and 'Put Your Love Away' also became part of their catalog.
After the peak of 'Forever,' the brothers ran into some legal trouble in 1983. The details are sparse, but it marked a shift. They kept making music, but never quite matched that earlier commercial height.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
