Alexandre Bacana

Alexandre Bacana came up in Salvador, Bahia, where he grew up around traditional Brazilian worship music. He put out his debut album in 2005, which included the track 'Salmo 96.' That song, a version of Psalm 96, got some attention and helped him find an audience in Brazilian gospel circles.

He released a few more albums over the next decade, like 'Palavra do Reino' in 2007 and 'Viver É Cristo' in 2010. His approach to worship music sometimes rubbed religious leaders the wrong way, particularly when he questioned how commercial the scene had become. But he kept working, putting out 'Não Existe Outro Amor' in 2014.
