Alexis HK

Alexis HK is a French singer-songwriter born Alexis Hakman. He grew up in the suburb of Montreuil, where his father introduced him to jazz artists like Billie Holiday and Nina Simone, while his mother shared classical music with him. These early influences would later show up in his own work.

He started performing in small venues in the late 1990s and released his debut album 'Les Affamés' in 2002. His 2005 album 'Les Inconnus Chez Moi' brought him wider attention, particularly through the song 'Aiguille Avance,' a ballad about lost love and the passage of time. Other tracks like 'C'que t'es belle' and 'Chien De Vieille' also became part of his repertoire.

In 2010, he faced accusations of anti-Semitism over a song referencing the Nazi occupation of France, though he defended it as an attempt to provoke thought about historical events.
