The All-American Rejects formed in Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1999, with Tyson Ritter and Nick Wheeler at the core. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2002 and included the song 'Swing, Swing,' which got them noticed. They were part of that early 2000s pop-punk wave, writing songs that were catchy and direct.
Their second album, 'Move Along,' arrived in 2005 and had a bigger reach. The single 'Dirty Little Secret' became a radio staple, and 'Gives You Hell' from a later album also got a lot of play. The band's lineup changed over time, with Chris Gaylor joining on drums after Mike Kennerty's departure around 2008.
They kept making records, putting out 'Kids in the Street' in 2008 and 'When the World Comes Down' in 2012. Their music has also appeared in other places, like the film 'The Last Song.'
