So this is where I lost control

and this is where I fell

This is where I thought it turned around

and then it went to Hell

This is where I finally learned to laugh

and this is where I stopped

This is where I took the weight of the world

and this is where it dropped

Why can't we be saved by apathy

Defined by triumph and not by tragedy

You're who you are when the wires come loose

Why can't we find ourselves a better excuse

to explain the things that come just the same

The fear, the sorrow, the guilt, the pain

If they were gone, then I guess they'd be missed

but now they're here and I never asked for this

But no one ever does

Falling, rising, matters of the heart

Another aspect of this dying art

This is where I learned to stand

and this is where I crawled

This is where things started taking off

and this is where they stalled

This is where I chose to live by my will

and this is where I paid

This is where I finally gave up hope

and that is where I stayed

they're just the scars that haven't healed yet

We live for nothing and will 'til we're done

Then we find out just what we have won

There's a seat awaiting down in Hell

Perhaps a spot in Heaven as well

Perhaps there's no consequence in the end

Perhaps we get to go around again

So this is what we're meant to be

and this is what we are

It's somewhat funny, 'cause you never know

How goddamn far down things can go

If it were easy, it'd be no fun
