Trusting Myself

Another day is reaching its end

And my success has been nothing but pretend

And as the days go rushing away

I'm watching as my dreams all begin to bend

Along this endless, steep mountain trail

I feel that I've been climbing to no avail

Time - it's always drifting away

You know you're going to lose at least a minute a day

Don't even try to deny ever being delayed

'Cause some would surely say that that's too much attention to pay

Say goodbye to the lies and the alibis

'Cause only you know whether what you're doing is right

It's no use crying 'cause your time is so tight

You've got to figure out why you're always going astray

And why you're always afraid that it's all going to fade

Ironically, you waste your time on grinding thoughts

And wishing that that moment had stayed

I'd try to fly real high, in spite of

The fact that I just realized that I'm losing sight of my life

I'd say I'm doing okay

But when it gets down to it, this is all I can say
