All Wound Up formed in Boston in the late 1990s with Ryan Shapiro on vocals and guitar, Jim McGorman on guitar, Chris Doherty on bass, and John McCann on drums. They played shows around the city, working out their sound before recording anything.
Their debut album '100% Of Nothing' came out in 2002, and the title track got some attention. The song 'Bittersweet' and 'Another Cloudy Day' also appeared on that record. They toured after that, playing with other bands on the road.
They kept making music, with songs like 'Any Other Way' and 'Comfort In Compromise' showing up in their catalog later on. The band's name suggested a certain energy, and their recordings from that period reflect it.
