Allan Jones was born in Wales in 1907 and started singing as a choirboy. He joined the Welsh Male Voice Choir in the 1920s, then got his Broadway break in the early 1930s with a role in 'The Desert Song.'
He moved into films in 1936 and appeared in over thirty movies, including 'The Great Victor Herbert' and 'Swanee River' from 1939. His version of 'I'm Falling in Love with Someone' became particularly well-known, along with 'The Donkey Serenade' and 'Tomorrow is Another Day.'
Jones had his own radio show and orchestra, and kept performing through some vocal troubles in the 1940s. He was also a public supporter of Senator Joseph McCarthy during that period.
