Allienatyon

Allienatyon formed in the early 2000s around two artists known as G and Y, with R sometimes joining on drums. They put out their first album, Proteus, in 2003, followed by three more records over the next dozen years. Their sound leaned into experimental electronics, with G handling vocals and lyrics while Y worked on guitars and synthesizers.

Their debut album Proteus gave a good sense of what they were after, ethereal vocals layered over eerie synths and industrial rhythms. The band's live shows sometimes incorporated multimedia elements, which could polarize audiences. They kept at it through 2015's Umbra, working within a fairly tight circle and sticking to their own lane in the experimental electronica scene.
