Almir e Altair

Almir Rodrigues and Altair Alves started playing together in Porto Alegre during the early 1960s. They were a duo who performed in local bars and festivals, and in 1968 they put out their first album. That record included 'Destino Diferentes,' a song that became widely known.

Their music from that period, including tracks like 'Pássaro Preto' and 'Adeus Recanto de Minas,' connected with listeners. They kept recording and performing for years, building a catalog of songs.

In the 1970s, their work sometimes ran into trouble with Brazil's military government. They faced performance bans and other pressures, but they continued making music through that time.
