Almir Antunes and Rafael Rabelo started playing together in Lagoa Vermelha, a town in southern Brazil. They built an early following at local rodeos and festivals before releasing their live album "Ao Vivo em Porto Alegre" in 1997.
Their 1998 single "A Lua, Você e Eu" became a national hit in Brazil. The song, along with tracks like "Arena do Amor" and "Mar e Lua," helped establish them in the sertanejo scene. Rafael left the duo in 2002 but returned in 2006, and they continued performing together.
