A Danish band that made straightforward, synth-layered pop in the late 2000s before stepping away.
If you want the pure, radio-ready version of their sound, 'Fascination' is the one. For something from the later end, 'Younger Than Yesterday' still has that same melodic clarity.
For a few years, Alphabeat's songs like 'Fascination' and '10,000 Nights' had a real presence on radio. They captured that specific early 2000s pop energy, uncomplicated melodies, bright synths, a kind of cheerful directness. A track like 'Ocean Blue' shows that even their later material kept that core sound intact.
They formed in Silkeborg in 2006 and released their self-titled debut in 2008. After 'The Spell' in 2010 and 'Express Non-Stop' in 2012, the band announced a hiatus in 2014, saying they were tired and wanted to do other things.
