Alu

Alu formed in Bogota, Colombia around the early 2000s, with singer-songwriter Alejandro Buitrago and guitarist Juan Camilo Correa at the center. They started playing small local venues and festivals, building their sound through live performances rather than studio polish. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2004, followed by the 2006 release 'Dual' which included the song 'Deslizándome'.

'Deslizándome' became their most recognizable track, a melodic piece that caught attention beyond Colombia. The band's lineup also included Andrés Jiménez on bass and Julio Morillo on drums, creating a four-piece ensemble. Their music had an introspective quality that connected with listeners, though some of their lyrical themes drew occasional criticism.

Alu's catalog shows a progression from their raw debut toward more developed arrangements on later work. Another track, 'Tudo Em Volta,' represents their ability to craft atmospheric songs with emotional weight. They maintained a consistent presence in Latin alternative circles for several years, with their music circulating through both official releases and live recordings.
