Alundhra formed in the early 2000s around vocalist and guitarist Tristan Thorne, bassist Ethan Silva, and drummer Maya Carter. Their debut album, 'Dark Legacy', came out in 2005 and included the title track, which became a staple for the band. They drew from thrash, progressive, and black metal influences, giving their sound a dense, technical edge.
After the debut, Maya Carter left the band in 2007. Alundhra kept going with Thorne and Silva, releasing 'Ashes of Eden' in 2009 and 'Beyond the Veiled Sun' in 2013. Those later records held onto the heavy foundation but drifted into more experimental and psychedelic territory. Songs like 'Dreamwalker' and 'Where The Gods Sleep' reflect that shift toward broader, atmospheric metal.
The band faced a lawsuit over plagiarism allegations at one point, which forced them to pause for a while. They never quite recaptured the initial momentum of 'Dark Legacy', but Thorne and Silva have kept the project alive with a steady, if less visible, presence in the metal underground.
