Archive material and source history
Amen formed in Chile in 1986, with Marisol Navarrete on vocals, Ignacio Mena on guitar and keyboards, Mauricio Morales on drums, and Gonzalo Castex on bass. Their first album came out the following year, featuring the song "Te Quiero." They put out several more records through the 1990s, including La Primera Vez, Amen 3, and Pura Vida.
Navarrete's voice carried much of their sound, and Mena wrote most of the material. Their songs often dealt with personal themes, like the tracks "Decir Adiós" and "Fin de Tiempo." The band broke up in 2001 but started playing together again a decade later.
