American Comedy Network formed in 2007 after the Philadelphia band The Lobbyists dissolved. The group included Matt Pond on vocals and guitar, Jake Shane on guitar, Matthew Caws on bass, and Jamey Drake on drums.
Their debut album 'White Man's Burden' came out in 2009, featuring the single 'Breaking Up Is Hard On You.' That song found an audience with its mix of catchy melody and wry lyrics about relationships.
They put out several more albums over the next decade, including 'Funny People' in 2011, 'Brooklyn' in 2014, and 'No One's Gonna Love You' in 2018. In 2012, Pond was arrested for marijuana possession, which led to a short suspension from the band.
