American Head Charge formed in Minneapolis in 1995 with Cameron Heacock on vocals, Martin Cock on guitar, Chad Hanks on bass, and Chris Emery on drums. Their debut album 'The War of Art' came out in 1999, mixing industrial metal with rap and electronic touches. They built a following through raw live shows in the underground scene.
Their 2001 album 'Trepanation' got attention from critics and included the single 'Just So You Know,' which got play on alternative radio and MTV. They toured with bands like Nine Inch Nails and System of a Down around that time. Other songs from their catalog include 'Loyalty,' 'A Violent Reaction,' 'Cowards,' and 'Dirty.'
They kept releasing albums after that, including 'The Feeding' in 2003, 'The Rhythmatist' in 2005, 'Can't Stop the Machine' in 2008, and 'Decimator' in 2016. The band's sound shifted some over those records.
