American Lesion formed in the mid-2000s when Chris Rand met Logan Carlson at a local music festival. They shared an interest in experimental rock and began working together. The band's song 'Back to Earth' became their most recognized track, with its atmospheric quality drawing listeners in.

Their debut album was called 'Of Stars and Dust,' which mixed rock with ambient electronic elements. Other songs like 'Cease' and 'Fate's Cruel Hand' continued in this vein, creating a sound that felt both spacious and grounded.
