AML formed in São Paulo around 2000, originally called Amo. The early lineup included vocalist Junior Lima, guitarist Dedé Paraizo, bassist Marcelo Bass, and drummer Guilherme Arantes. They played shows around the city while looking for a label.
Their first album, 'Por Dentro,' came out in 2004. A second album, 'Nação Dos Cegos,' followed. The song 'Poesia Lírica' appeared in 2007 and became their most recognized track.
They kept recording albums after that. The band's name stands for Amo, Lição, Melodia.
