Amnion formed in 2004 in Norway, playing black metal with some ambient and noise touches. Their debut album 'Ashes of the Sun' came out in 2009. They've kept a fairly steady lineup with Abbath on vocals and guitar, Demonaz on guitar, Armagedda on bass, and Faust on drums.
They've put out several albums since then, including 'Cosmogenesis' in 2012, 'The Seventh Gate' in 2015, 'Black Metal Resistance' in 2018, and 'Nihil' in 2021. The title track 'Black Metal Resistance' is one of their better-known songs, along with 'Burn The Forest'.
Their sound has that raw black metal aggression but with atmospheric layers that give it some space. They work in a fairly improvisational way, trading ideas back and forth in the studio rather than sticking to rigid arrangements.
