Ana e Os Lobos formed in Lisbon in 1989 around singer-songwriter Anabela Duarte, with guitarist António Cunha, bassist Luís Peixe, and drummer Pedro Almeida. They were part of Portugal's folk-rock scene in those years.
Their second album, 'Glória,' came out in 1991 and gave them a national hit with the title track. That song, along with others like 'Se Eu Ousar,' helped define their sound, which mixed Portuguese folk elements with rock arrangements.
Duarte left the band in 1995, and the group continued with Cunha and Peixe. They kept recording through the 2000s and 2010s, putting out albums like 'Corpo e Alma' in 2000 and 'Dias de Glória' in 2019.
