Anacrusis was a heavy metal band from Seattle that started in 1986. They put out three albums in the late 80s and early 90s: 'Suffering Hour' in 1988, 'Reason' in 1990, and 'Screaming of the Damned' in 1993. Ken Sorceron sang for them.
Their music had some thrash metal in it, with songs like 'A Screaming Breath' and 'Annihilation Complete' showing that side. But they also worked in more complicated rhythms and melodies that weren't typical for straightforward thrash bands at the time.
They broke up in 1993, though they played together again briefly in 2009. The Seattle scene was mostly about grunge when they were active, which made things harder for a metal band trying to get noticed locally.
