Ananda Project came up in the early 2000s electronic dance scene. Their track 'Alguém' became something of an anthem, a piece that stuck with people for its introspective feel. They put out albums like 'Ananda Project' in 2004, 'Reflections' in 2007, 'The Storm' in 2011, and 'Amplitude' in 2016.
Early on, some critics said their sound borrowed too much from other artists, specifically mentioning the trance duo Above & Beyond. There were plagiarism accusations that the group had to deal with. Then in 2010, lead vocalist Marina Elali left, which shook up their fanbase for a while.
They kept going with a different lineup. Gabriel Boni handles vocals and guitar, Flavio Medeiros is on keyboards and synths, João de Carvalho plays drums, and Victor And is also part of the group. Their songs like 'Kiss Kiss Kiss' and 'Cascades Of Colours' have that blend of trance and progressive house they're known for.
