Andrzej Piaseczny started singing with the pop group Mafia in 1990, when they had hits like "Noce i dnie" and "Tamta dziewczyna." He left the band in 1995 and put out his first solo album, "Sax, Sex, Foxtrot & Rock'n'Roll," which did well in Poland.
He kept recording through the 1990s and 2000s, and songs like "Hej" became popular. In 2012, he came out as gay, which got some attention in Poland at the time.
