In the late 1990s, the lineup shifted when Tong and drummer Paul Fraser left, replaced by guitarist Ian Pickering and drummer Andy Gangadeen. The band released albums like "The Kiss" in 1997 and "High Society" in 1999.
Bell's personal struggles with depression and substance abuse affected the group's dynamics. Their sound incorporated electronic elements and later moved toward rock influences in the 2000s.
