She put out "Ensoleillée" in 2007 and "Essence" in 2015. In 2006, she released the song "Alguém Para Amar," which became widely heard. She has worked with other musicians like Youssou N'Dour, Manu Dibango, and Baaba Maal.
Lokua has been recognized with awards including France's Victoires de la Musique. Her music draws from African rhythms and Western styles, and she has been known to speak on social and political matters.
