AngelMaker started in Las Vegas around 2014. Their first album, Dissentient, came out the next year. They've put out a few more records since then, including Plague God in 2019 and Sanctum in 2022.
Their music gets called deathcore, but there's some black metal and electronic stuff mixed in there too. Songs like Requiem and What I Would Give show how they can shift between heavy and atmospheric. Metal Injection once described them as one of the more interesting bands in heavy music.
The lineup has changed a bit over time. Mike Carroll handles vocals, with Jake Glover on guitar, Ethan Larson on bass, and Lonestar on drums. A founding member left in 2018, and there have been some public disagreements with a former member since then.
In 2023 they released an album called Requiem. It's a concept record that deals with existential themes, and the title track serves as its centerpiece.
