Angelo de Augustine

Angelo de Augustine grew up in Carmel-by-the-Sea and started writing songs early, drawing from folk influences like Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen. He released his first EP 'Haunt Me' in 2011, followed by the album 'Tomb' in 2014. His music tends toward quiet, introspective folk with a focus on personal lyrics.

Songs like 'You Needed Love, I Needed You' and 'Tomb' show his style, spare arrangements, gentle vocals, and direct emotional writing. He's spoken about dealing with depression and addiction, and those experiences often surface in his work without becoming its defining feature.

He put out another album called 'Swim' in 2016 and has kept recording since, though he stepped back from touring for a while after 2019. The music stays pretty consistent: acoustic guitar, soft delivery, and lyrics that feel lived-in rather than dramatic.
