Angry Anderson co-founded the Australian rock band Rose Tattoo in 1976. Their self-titled debut album came out in 1978, and the track 'Bad Boy for Love' became something of an anthem for them. The band was known for a raw, aggressive sound and for being a formidable live act.
Their second album, 'Assault & Battery,' arrived in 1979 and featured the single 'Bad Days.' That song found a wider audience and is still one of the tracks people associate with Anderson. He wrote with a direct, working-class perspective that came from growing up in Sydney's suburbs.
Anderson's public persona was as loud as his music, which sometimes led to trouble. In 1983, he faced charges related to an incident at a Sydney rock festival. The band's activity became less consistent after that period.
