Ani Bele

Ani Bele formed in Barcelona around 2005 as a musical collective. Their music pulls from folk, rock, and flamenco, with lyrics that often touch on social issues like poverty and inequality. Their debut album 'Historias Repetidas' came out in 2009, and its title track became something of an anthem for listeners.

Some of their early performances drew mixed reactions, with critics calling their sound too eclectic. But they kept at it, and their straightforward lyrics about working-class struggles found an audience. Over time, their sound expanded to include jazz and electronic touches, as heard on later albums like 'La Vida No Es Un Cuento' from 2012 and 'En La Frontera' from 2016.

The group operates as a collaborative effort, with each member bringing different skills to the recordings and performances. They've maintained that collective approach while letting their music evolve naturally from those early Barcelona sessions.
