Archive material and source history
Ani Liotto was a Brazilian music ensemble led by singer-songwriter Liotto. The group included guitarist Zé Renato, saxophonist Paulo Moura, and percussionist Ricardo Silveira. They released several albums, beginning with their debut 'Cantada Fraca'.
Their music combined traditional Brazilian rhythms with more experimental elements, which sometimes put them at odds with both purists and mainstream listeners. This tension meant they never quite found a comfortable place in either camp.
The band recorded a few more albums after their debut, including 'Aurora' and 'Na Ponta da Língua'. They eventually disbanded in 2005.
