Annie

Annie is the stage name of Norwegian singer Anne Lilia Berge Strand, who started making music in Bergen in the early 2000s. She eventually put out her debut album 'Anniemal' in 2004 on her own label, Annie Records. The record had a bright, danceable electropop sound that caught on, especially with the single 'Anthonio,' which became a hit across Europe and Asia.

Her songs often have a straightforward pop appeal with disco and house touches. Beyond 'Anthonio,' tracks like 'The Breakfast Song' and 'Tube Stops And Lonely Hearts' show her knack for melodic, slightly wistful dance music. She worked with producers and songwriters including Torbjørn Brundtland and Stefan Sundstrøm.

Annie released two more studio albums, 'Don't Stop' in 2009 and 'Dark Hearts' in 2013, continuing in a similar electronic pop vein. Her music didn't shy away from playful or personal themes, which sometimes drew criticism, but she kept writing and recording the way she wanted.
