They started making music in Oslo, mixing dreamy electronica with indie rock and ethereal vocals. Their debut album 'Anniemal' came out in 2004, featuring the single 'Chewing Gum' which became an international hit.
They followed up with albums like 'Don't Stop' in 2009 and 'Dark Hearts' in 2013. Some of their songs include 'Reverse' and 'Vampire'. The band's lineup has changed over time, with Brinchmann as the constant member alongside various musicians like drummer Joachim Rygg and bassist Lars Horntveth.
In 2006, Brinchmann faced a vocal cord condition that required surgery and rehabilitation, but she continued writing and performing. Their music sometimes drew attention for its content, like the song 'Hey Annie' which referenced drug use.
