Anny Koch

Anny Koch formed in 2017 as a band from Seoul that worked with K-pop and otaku culture. Their early track 'Kpopper VS. Otaku' gave a sense of what they were trying to do, mixing those two worlds in a way that wasn't common at the time. They had four members: Hanna Kim on vocals, Minho Park on guitar, Jisoo Jung on bass, and Seunghoon Lee on drums.

They put out songs like 'Mandraka Vs E-girl' and 'pick me girl' that kept playing with those cultural references. The approach drew some attention from both K-pop and anime fans, though not always the welcoming kind. Some listeners thought they were crossing lines that didn't need crossing.

They kept at it anyway, releasing 'Sabrina (part. KF)' and 'Válvula de Escape' as part of their output. The music had guitar work that leaned into rock, and the vocals carried both K-pop's polish and anime theme song energy. It was a specific blend that found its listeners, even if it puzzled others.
