Anson Li was born in Hong Kong in 1984. He started playing music early, forming a band called L.A. Boyz when he was 15. That group had some local success, but he went solo in 2006.
His first solo single, "First Kiss," came out in 2007 and did well across Asia. That led to his debut album, Here I Stand, later that same year. Another track, "Go My Way," also became one of his better-known songs.
In 2010, he took some time off after a plagiarism accusation about a song called "Goodbye." He came back in 2012 with an album called The One, which people said showed a more developed sound. He's put out other records since, like Love and Loss in 2015 and Rebirth in 2018.
He works with a few regular collaborators, including producer Kelvin Avon and lyricist Wyman Wong. He released First Kiss II in 2021.
