Anti-corpos

Anti-corpos formed in Brazil during the late 1980s, a period marked by political tension. Their music from that time carried a direct, frustrated energy that reflected what was happening around them. The band's lyrics often dealt with social issues and political themes, which sometimes put them at odds with authorities.

Marcelo D2 handles vocals for the group, with Cebolinha on guitar, Fred 04 on bass, Claudio Cabecinha on drums, and DJ Hum on turntables. Their sound pulls from hip-hop, rock, and Brazilian rhythms without settling neatly into any one category. Songs like "Calabar" and "Pró-escolha" show how they weave those elements together.

In 1996, they released an album called "Calabar," which became particularly well-known. Their catalog includes other records like "Combate" from 1992, "Samba Pra Burro" from 1994, "A Volta do Castelo" from 2000, and "Do Outro Lado do Samba" from 2008. Tracks such as "Alvo da Loucura," "Apoia Mutua," and "Brincando de Igualdade" continue that thread of rhythm and message.
