Archive material and source history
Antichrisis formed in 1989, started by Chris Connelly and William Tucker after their time with Revolting Cocks. Their first album was called "Out of the Ashes." The band had a rough go early on with money problems and shifting lineups, but they kept at it, adding drummer Eric Powell along the way.
Their 1994 album "The Nightmare Factory" included the track "Wasteland," which became something of a calling card for them. They toured a fair bit, sometimes opening for bigger acts like Nine Inch Nails, and their live shows were known for being pretty intense.
Some of their material stirred up trouble. A song called "White Trash" got criticized by some listeners, and their stage performances often leaned into graphic or profane territory. Through it all, Connelly's vocals, ranging from whispers to screams, remained central to their sound.
