Archive material and source history
Antiestatika formed in Bogotá, Colombia in the early 2000s around vocalist and guitarist Javier Zea and bassist Mateo Rico. They started without a drummer, using drum machines and sequencers for their live shows instead.
Their 2006 single "Gusto Conocerte" became a national hit in Colombia, with its catchy melody and Zea's vocals. That song, along with others like "6 AM" and "Dejame Llevarte," helped define their sound.
They released their self-titled debut album in 2007, followed by "Espacio" in 2010 and "Modo Avión" in 2014. The band's lineup changed over time, with different drummers including Juan Manuel Medina, Carlos Riaño, and Jacobo Vélez playing with Zea and Rico.
