Antikid

Antikid formed in Tokyo in 2009 with Kohei Kanno on vocals, Hideo Shimabukuro on guitar, Atsushi 'Tonchi' Inagaki on bass, and Hikaru Hirano on drums. Their early EP 'Disruptive Connection' had a raw, experimental feel that mixed punk and electronic elements.

In 2012 they released the album 'Discard The Excess,' which included the title track and songs like 'Faultlines' and 'The Last Escape Plan.' The record leaned into industrial textures and atmospheric synths alongside distorted guitars, creating a dense, layered sound that some listeners found challenging.

Their music has drawn criticism for being too noisy or dissonant, but they've kept working with electronic and rock materials without much compromise. The band's catalog includes several EPs and albums that continue in this vein.
